{"id":918,"date":"2016-06-06T11:20:21","date_gmt":"2016-06-06T15:20:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.asianonlinerecipe.com\/cooking\/?p=918"},"modified":"2016-06-06T11:20:21","modified_gmt":"2016-06-06T15:20:21","slug":"braised-dried-bean-curd-with-chinese-mushrooms-recipe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.asianonlinerecipe.com\/cooking\/braised-dried-bean-curd-with-chinese-mushrooms-recipe\/","title":{"rendered":"Braised Dried Bean Curd with Chinese Mushrooms Recipe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-919\" src=\"http:\/\/www.asianonlinerecipe.com\/cooking\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/braised-dried-bean-curd.jpg\" alt=\"Braised Dried Bean Curd with Chinese Mushrooms Recipe\" width=\"500\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.asianonlinerecipe.com\/cooking\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/braised-dried-bean-curd.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.asianonlinerecipe.com\/cooking\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/braised-dried-bean-curd-300x240.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Dried mushrooms and broccoli add a distinctive flavor to this unique bean curd dish.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong> (Serves 2)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8-10 dried Chinese mushrooms, soaked until soft, then drained<\/li>\n<li>3 tablespoons cooking oil<\/li>\n<li>2 slices ginger, peeled and shredded<\/li>\n<li>1 shallot, peeled and sliced<\/li>\n<li>85 g (3 oz) broccoli, cut into small florets and rinsed<\/li>\n<li>250 g (9 oz) dried bean curd cubes<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon corn flour (cornstarch), mixed with 1 tablespoon water<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon sesame oil<\/li>\n<li>1 red chili, sliced<\/li>\n<li>1 spring onion (scallion), chopped<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Seasoning (Combined)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00bc teaspoon salt<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc teaspoon sugar<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc teaspoon ground white pepper<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon light soy sauce<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Sauce<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>300 ml (10 fl oz \/ 1\u00bc cups) basic stock<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd tablespoon dark soy sauce<\/li>\n<li>2 teaspoons light soy sauce<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd teaspoon sugar<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc teaspoon salt<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc teaspoon ground white pepper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Combine seasoning ingredients and season mushrooms for 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Heat 1\u00bd tablespoons oil in a wok until hot. Stir-fry ginger and shallots until fragrant, then add mushrooms and fry for another 1-2 minutes. Remove and set aside. Stir-fry broccoli for 1 minute, then remove and set aside. Reheat remaining oil in the wok and toss bean curd cubes until crisp and light brown in color.<\/p>\n<p>Add combined sauce ingredients and mushrooms and bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Add broccoli and simmer for 2 minutes longer.<\/p>\n<p>Thicken with corn flour mixture and sprinkle in sesame oil, red chili and spring onion.
